One perfect Summer- Paige Toon

Paige Toon is one hell of an author. This book is no turn down, Alice is like every girl, we have all been there. Maybe not as spectacular as Alice manages to pull off first love but its a story we've all lived through.
Alice meets dishy Joe as he works for his nutcase parents. The pair fall in love quickly and Joe tells her secrets he would never tell anyone else. When Joe's brother is released from prison for Rape, things turn bad for Joe, he is once again used as a punch bag. He manages to escape but his suffering doesn't end there, Joe demands that Alice and her family leave Dorset before his family hurt them in some way. While Alice goes to pack, Joe leaves without a word.
Alice is heart broken, she goes to university her life is at odds and she misses out on bonding with her peers. One day she meets Jessie,he punts tourists around Cambridge, he lifts her spirits and she gains a job punting also.  While punting she meets Lukas a good looking physicist, who turns out to be a control freak who likes none of Alice's friends.   Alice is practically forced into marrying Lukas, with his mind tricks and games.  On the morning of her wedding, her best friend Lizzy shows her a film called strike, with its hunky lead actor Joseph Strike. Alice can't believe she has found Joe, but now Joe is a super famous actor. She marries Lukas all the same and goes back to the UK. Joe is every where when she returns home and to work, the kids love him and it appears so do her work mates. Lizzy encourages her to contact his agent. She does but fails to get through to him as she won't leave her number.
Over the next few months, Lukas' control freak behaviour seems to sign his own death warrant. Alice goes to London to stay with Lizzy for a few days, where Lizzy allows her to watch 3 of Joe's films, things change for Alice she knows she has to see him. As the girls come back from the cinema, Lukas is waiting to take Alice home he forces her to leave early, once in the car he throws a paper at her, where on the front page is news that Joe's brother is a rapist.
Alice keeps tabs on the news following the news a new story seems to break each day. The turning point seems to be when Lukas gets a job promotion and accepts the job without even asking Alice. She goes home for Christmas before hand Lizzy tells her Joe will be in London for his premier of his new film. She manages to get through the girls and calls his name, he looks up and sees her but is pulled away. Later that night she watches TV and Joe is on a chat show, as per usual Lukas has to ruin her Joe time by calling to speak to her, she misses his whole interview. As she searches the internet for the show, Lizzy rings and tells her she recorded it. Alice runs round to Lizzy's and watches in shock as Joe tells the chat show host he is still in love with his first love. Lizzy admits she called the show and gave them Alice's number. her phone rings its Joe. She arranges to meet him finally she is going to get the answers she needs.
When those answers come everything is different, its no longer closure but the start of something new, they run off back to Dorset and as thing progress they stay longer than they should, Lukas turns up once again and thankfullly finally gets his marching orders.  Alice as to resolves a few things so she returns to Cambridge to do just that, its a happy ending and its one with out Lukas.
There is way to much Lukas in this book for me, I was a Joe fan from the start and I really hope that Paige writes a follow up to this book, it would be nice to have a Alice and Joe book.
I loved one perfect Summer well worth the wait and I can't wait for the next. If you only read one book this summer make sure its this one!
